I have a MA degree in applied linguistics and over 7 years of experience teaching Spanish and English to a variety of learners. Having been a language learner myself (BA in Spanish), I know the nuances of what it takes to not only learn a new language, but feel confident in your abilities.
My experience in administration in education has given me an upper hand on being a successful and strong writer. The skills I learned can be shared with my clients, whether they want to learn the fundamentals of grammar or if they want to write proposals. My range is vast and flexible.
This is where my passion lies! I want to share my knowledge of how to obtain near native pronunciation. My guidance will involve exercises of the tongue, lips, and mouth to be able to adapt to the sounds that are unique to the language. I also know many tips and tricks to make this more concrete and easier to digest.

I'm Tandis Nowrouzi
Hello, and thanks for checking me out! I am an experienced accent coach, Spanish, language arts and ESL Instructor with a demonstrated history of working in the education and management industry. With a Master of Arts (MA) focused in Applied Linguistics from San Jose State University and a BA in Spanish with a minor in psychology, I have been a professional language teacher and coach for six years and counting! I have taught students in China, as well as international students from around the world at Mission College in Silicon Valley.
I am happy to help you with building your executive speaking and communication skills like presentations, accent reduction, virtual presence, successful interviews and networking.
About Zabon Language School
Zabon- the Persian word for “tongue” can also be used for “language”. Many languages and cultures in the world often associate this word with language. Speaking and pronunciation rely heavily on the movements of the tongue and mouth to produce sounds. This is the inspiration behind the company!

Pronunciation/Accent reduction
Many people who are learning English may have difficulty with the speaking patterns, tones, and rhythm of North American English. As your coach, I will help you put the right feelings behind what you say, as well as how to morph your mouth to be able to create the movement needed to produce certain speech sounds unique to the language. You are encouraged to bring any specific texts or resources for practicing in our classes.I will also help you find the tricks and tips you need to feel confident in speaking and being better understood!
Public speaking / Presentation / Networking language skills & practice
Public speaking for anyone can be a nerve-racking experience; This is even more difficult and stress-inducing if you are a non-native speaker. As your coach, I will help you with preparing your presentations or meetings to be more dynamic and persuasive, using appropriate body language and facial expressions, your pacing, voice, and intonation, getting rid of “fluff” words such as, “um” and “like”, and generally building your communication skills to feel relaxed and speak with confidence and clarity.
Reading/Writing
Do you often struggle with understanding emails or project plans because of the language barrier? Are you nervous about written communication at the workplace or otherwise? We can work together to build your reading comprehension skills, which go hand in hand with growing your ability to write confidently. I will assist you with expanding your vocabulary and creating a good foundation for grammar and mechanics so that you can express yourself and understand better in written communication.

FAQ
What time are classes available?
I can work one on one with you to find a schedule plan that works with your lifestyle. I will do my best to accommodate you.
How long before I see an improvement?
During our first meeting, I will assess your skills and work together to build a plan towards your goal. You will see an improvement in a few weeks, but most students will need several sessions before they are fluid in their communication skills.
Can I cancel or change classes after I set my schedule with you?
I am flexible with make-up classes, as long as it doesn’t become a habit. I will try my best to accommodate you with enough notice. Please ensure that you communicate your schedule change at least 24 hours prior, or the class will be counted and charged in full.
Do you offer trial courses?
I offer a free, 30 min consultation where we can discuss your general goals and what services I can provide to match that.
What materials do I need?
You only need a laptop and good Internet connection! As I cater to your individual needs and requests, each student may expect to have additional materials to purchase, though I often use and share free resources.
